Dear Parents,
The winter session certainly has gone by quickly at Grier School. I cannot believe the students are leaving for spring break, hopefully, this recent winter storm will not be an issue for travel. When everyone returns, there is a renewed feeling on campus as the temperature outside is warmer, the sun is shining longer, and the excitement about spring builds. I have included a few upcoming special events in this letter, but please continue to look on the website calendar for more updates.
As we have all weathered this pandemic, I am also encouraged by the updated CDC guidelines and the shift toward a less restrictive environment for everyone. To that end, the school asks that every student return from spring break with a negative Covid test result (it can be a rapid or home test). The school will only test those students who do not return with a test result from the break.
Moving forward, students who are vaccinated will not be tested after returning from a weekend trip or activity unless they have symptoms. As for wearing masks, the school will continue to require masks when in a group setting such as a classroom or at school meetings. Masks will not be required for afternoon activities or when students are outside. As mandates change, the school will keep parents updated.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions. I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable spring break.
Regards,
Gina Borst
Head of School
