Stephen Nelson was born and raised in beautiful central Pennsylvania. His studies started at The Columbus College of Art and Design where he focused on illustration and graphic design. With more of an interest in the fine graphic arts, he became focused on printmaking. Stephen finished his studies at Pennsylvania State University, earning Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Continuing his education, Stephen has attended classes at the Pyramid Atlantic Summer Institute in Silver Spring, Maryland and is currently enrolled in the Sessions School of Design in the graphic design program.
A well rounded artist, Stephen’s personal work combines digital and classic techniques such as etching, silk screen, painting and photography. His art centers around the industrial landscape the rich history and cultural heritage that they represent.
Stephen lives in Altoona with his wife Tera. They have three beautiful children, Quintin, Sophia and Cameron.
