Video Production

Video Production I

Students in grades 9-12 will learn the terms and techniques of setting up and operating a video camera (cam-corder) and apply these methods toward a variety of assignments designed to challenge the imagination. Taped assignments will then be uploaded into editing software where the students will learn how to make editing decisions and enhance their assignments. The end result of an assignment should be a video worthy of presentation to an audience.

Video Production II

In this more advanced class, for students in grades 9-12, will move on to more professional methods of video production. They will be introduced to the concept of designing storyboards for their assignments. They will be shown the benefits of creating a “B-Roll” and of suing separate people for dedicated tech positions. Set up as teams, the class will then be given more sophisticated assignments. Video shoots would be done on their own time. Once uploaded into the editing software, students will then learn how to use multiple audio and video feeds (or tracks) to produce a more professional video.
