Beginning Piano Class
This is a group course designed for students of any age with little or no keyboard experience. Theory, technique, sight-reading, ensemble activities and solo performing combine to provide an interesting and fun approach to learning to play the keyboard. Upon completion of this course, students will have a strong grasp of basic keyboard skills, piano repertoire and musical styles, to allow them to play for fun and pursue further study.
Music Theory
This class is designed for students of any age, whether listeners or performers, who want to have a better understanding of the language of music. Students learn the essentials of music theory: how music is constructed, how scales and chords are formed, the relationship between major and minor keys, and how music is composed through melody, harmony and and chord progressions. In addition, they receive ear training and basic keyboard skills.
