Learning Continues Through the Summer

Grier girls continue learning and growing over the summer. Rising senior, Hannah S. enjoyed an internship opportunity through Penn State where she was able to test a device that is designed to assist individuals with vision impairments grocery shop.
Hannah's intern experience included working with Penn State computer scientist Vijay Narayanan who is one of 50 researchers working across seven other institutions on the project called "Visual Cortex on Silicon," nicknamed "Third Eye" after the Hindu god Shiva, spreader of kindness and dispelled of evil throughout the universe. The device that Hannah tested has the potential to improve the lives of people with visual impairments worldwide.
