Members of Grier's Faculty Continue Their Education
Grier teachers understand the importance of learning and personal growth through professional development opportunities. Whether working on additional degrees or certifications, participating in new experiences, or learning more about the world, Grier teachers frequently choose to develop their skills throughout the school year and the summer!
This summer, two members of the Grier School faculty chose to further their education at the Bread Loaf School of English. This graduate English program is part of Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. Ms Dani Keith entered her first year of the five-year program, while Ms Kathryn Barr began her second. The rigorous program takes place at the Middlebury Mountain Campus near Ripton, VT from mid-June through the first weekend in August.
Meanwhile, also at Middlebury, but participating in Middlebury College's Master of Arts program for Spanish, Ms Taylor Leen writes this update:
Some teachers, like Mrs. Danielle Kelley, are teaching at summer programs. Mrs. Kelly Forest prepares for a research sabbatical abroad in Europe and New Zealand. Others are staying closer to home and attending workshops, seminars, distance-learning, and more!
Of course, continuing education doesn't stop with our teaching faculty. Grier's Admissions Director Mrs. Jennifer Neely recently acquired her certificate of Leadership in Enrollment Management from the University of Southern California.

Saludos from sunny Vermont! Here at Middlebury I'm participating in a century long tradition of language learning. The immersion process is a key element to the Middlebury experience so while taking classes in advanced grammar topics, literature and second language acquisition, I'm also under oath to speak only Spanish during my time here. My experience has been positive so far and I look forward to sharing new information with my students in my Spanish classes this fall.
