Financial Aid and Scholarships
Financial Aid Policy
We are committed to making our all-girls’ boarding school accessible to girls from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds. Financial aid is awarded based on demonstrated need and the availability of funds. Each application is reviewed carefully and confidentially.
While we strive to support as many families as possible, we are not always able to meet the full demonstrated need of every admitted student. Financial aid awards may also vary from year to year and are re-evaluated annually; families must reapply each year to be considered for continued assistance. Prospective and enrolled families who wish to be considered for financial aid must submit an application through Clarity by January 15 each year. Applications received after this deadline may not be considered. If a family feels as if their expected family contribution doesn’t match the award, they can submit a formal appeal and load it into Clarity.

Merit-Based Scholarship Policy
Merit-based scholarships are awarded at the time of admission to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional achievement, talent, and promise. These awards reflect our commitment to supporting students who will contribute meaningfully to the academic and community life of the school.
All applicants are considered for merit scholarships through the admissions process. Evaluation may include a range of materials that reflect a student’s strengths, such as SSAT scores, auditions, portfolios, or a horseback riding lesson. Awards are determined with consideration of various factors: academic or extracurricular accomplishment, character, and overall alignment with one of our signature programs and our mission.
Merit scholarships may be granted on their own or in conjunction with need-based financial aid. As with all funding, scholarship amounts may vary and are subject to the availability of funds. Merit scholarships are typically renewable each year, provided the student remains in good academic and disciplinary standing. A student not in good standing is at risk of not having her award renewed. In some cases, awards may be adjusted in alignment with changes to a family’s financial aid eligibility.

Step 2: Register for the SSAT
From the SSAT at Home webpage, click Register/Login. You can now take the SSAT from your home computer. Grier School’s code is 3586. Be sure to list our school code so that we receive the official test scores from the SSAT Board.
