Students Participate in National Math Competition
Congrats to Grier's American Math Competition participants: Lavinia C., Catrina C., and Caroline Y. These bright 7th and 8th graders completed a challenging math exam in State College on Tuesday.
According to the website of the Mathematical Association of America, “The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills.” The material on the test is typical to middle school mathematics curricula. The AMC 8 is designed to foster a positive attitude toward mathematical and analytical thinking, which may be useful for students’ future classroom and career experiences!
Awesome job representing Grier in the 2019 AMC 8, Lavinia, Catrina, and Caroline! Later this year, students in high school level math will participate in the AMC 10/12.
