Grier Musicians Delight with Classical Performances
Following the folk festival earlier this semester, Grier musicians took to the auditorium stage for two additional performances featuring classical music on strings and piano.
Violinist Cordelia-Marie C. used the Grier audience as an opportunity to practice for her upcoming college auditions. She performed Mendelssohn's Concerto in E minor, Op. 64, 1st movement. Concerto in E minor, Op. 64, 1st movement, accompanied by Grier music teacher Mrs. Agatha Wang on piano.
A quartet formed by Anna S. on violin, teacher Mr. Minnich on violin, Ceci F. on bass, and Cindy W. on piano performed four classical pieces. They performed G.F. Handel's La Rejouissance, then G. Faure's Pavane, followed by the easily recognized from PBS's Masterpiece Theatre theme Rondeau by J.J. Mouret, and concluded with A. Coreli's La Folia.
Thank you, Music Department and Grier musicians, for bringing so much joyful music to our ears!
