Celebrate MLK Day Your Way
This Monday, January 18th, the nation honors the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., an influential American civil rights leader. To help us celebrate this significant day, Grier Learning Skills teacher Mrs. Shelly Davis has partnered with Jennifer Hamer, PhD., a professor of African American Studies at Penn State University and parent of Grier junior student, Zoe H.
Mrs. Davis and Dr. Hamer invite the Grier community to "celebrate MLK Day your way" by exploring any number of the virtual events taking place the afternoon of January 18th.
The virtual concert from the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture honors Dr. King's commitment to racial equality, justice, and service.
4:00 - 5:30pm EST
In addition to the virtual events happening throughout the day of January 18, 2021, the Grier library has curated a reading listof books and ebooks highlighting the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Thank you Mrs. Davis and Dr. Hamer for helping Grier celebrate this important day as we begin our second semester of the 2020-21 school year.
