High Points and First Place Finishers Abound for Grier at IEA Dressage Show
Grier riders have been back in the saddle, not only enjoying recreational riding, but carefully returning to competition as well. While some competitions are held virtually, others are being held in-person with extensive health and safety plans in place.
This past weekend, Grier hosted their first show in nearly a year. For this small IEA show only two other schools competed against Grier, each with only a handful of riders. Safety precautions included the absence of spectators, limited participants, maximizing time spent in outdoor areas, temperature checks, health questionnaires, mask-wearing, and social distancing. Because spectators were not permitted, Grier’s video production teacher livestreamed the event.
Grier Riders performed wonderfully in the IEA Dressage Shows this past Saturday, January 23rd and Sunday, January 24th. First place finishers on Saturday include: Marian P., Grace W., Anleigh A., and Kiera G. Grace W. was named High Point Upper School Rider for both the morning and afternoon shows on Saturday, while Nellie K. was named Reserve High Point Upper School Rider for the Saturday morning show.
First place finishers for Sunday’s IEA Dressage Show include: Taylor A., Carlie F., Kiera G., Grace W., and Aahana L. Grace W. earned High Point Upper School Rider for the Sunday morning show and Reserve High Point Upper School Rider for the Sunday evening show. Anleigh A. was awarded Reserve High Point Middle School Rider for both the morning and evening shows on Sunday.
First place finishers in a Dressage Show held virtually in December include: Grace W., Carlie F., Taylor A., Catie R., Nicole H., and Marian P. Additionally, Grace W. received the title of High School High School Rider and Anleigh A. was named High Score Middle School Rider for this show.
Congratulations, Grier Riders! Keep up the great work!
