Happy Lunar New Year!

In honor of Lunar New Year, a major holiday celebrated by many of Grier’s Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese and East Asian-American students, Grier offered special treats to students in the living room following classes on Monday. Additionally, a group of students enjoyed a small celebration with Mrs. Wendy Warner at Cardinal Cottage.
February 12, 2021 marked the beginning of the new Lunar New Year, which is represented by the Ox. According to a Hong Kong feng shui master quoted in a CNN article, the complex Lunar New Year cycle indicates that we are now in the year of the Metal Ox. The feng shui master says the metal element can represent anything from jewelry to the needle of a syringe, while the ox, in Chinese culture, signifies hard work and movement.
