Pottery Club Sponsors Bowl Sale
Following the annual tradition, Mrs. Zimbler sold ceramic bowls in the Dining Hall in May to raise funds for a charity close to home. Ceramics students, pottery club members, and Mrs. Zimbler constructed the bowls using hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques. Students and Mrs. Zimbler finished the pieces with assorted glazes to make them oven, microwave, dishwasher, and food safe!
Mrs. Zimbler sold the pieces for $5-$20 each, inviting shoppers to enjoy the assorted soups provided by the Kitchen Staff. Proceeds from the sale go toward the Grier Community Fund, a charitable fund established by Mrs. Zimbler to provide some financial assistance to Grier employees during times of need, such as while caring for a sick loved one or recovering from a loss of property due to fire.
It is fun to select a "bowl-of-the-year" from the sale, a great way to remember Grier, and to extend thanks to the Grier Community.
