Teachers Excited for New School Year
In preparation for the new school year, Grier faculty and staff returned to campus late last month. During the opening meeting, Mrs. Borst welcomed several new and returning faces. While the in-service days included productive meetings and important training sessions, this year’s in-service week also featured a special program focused on diversity and equity topics.
This special program, led by Annie McBride spanned multiple days and provided faculty and staff members valuable insight and fostered consideration of inclusive and equitable practices within the Grier community. McBride has experience in discussing diversity issues. She holds the position of Project Manager of the Equity Initiatives at the City Colleges of Chicago and was previously Director of Projects and Policy Development, Office of Diversity & Equity at Kansas University. It was a treat to have her expertise in exploring these topics.
Also a treat is welcoming the newest members of Grier’s faculty!
