Students Return Enthused for Grier Opening
While many Grier students arrived on campus a few weeks ago to participate in our Enrichment Programs in Dance, Riding, College Prep, and ISOP, the rest of our in-person students arrived on campus last week for a fun-filled opening weekend before starting the 2021-22 school year.
The festive weekend included dinner and games on the Colonnade and a Saturday night outdoor dance party. On Sunday, athletes tried out for positions on varsity teams and new students became more familiar with Grier’s campus with thorough tours led by teachers.
Each tour group visited the Counseling Suite, Health Center, Package Center, Performing Arts Building, Registrar’s Office, IT Office, Gymnasium, Mrs. Borst’s Office, Fitness Center, Yoga Studio, Nana’s Place Lounge, Coffee Shop, and the Auditorium. Students also learned where to go for pick-up/drop-offs and where to register for weekend activities. Teachers also made sure to show students where to sign-up for music and drama auditions, along with the equestrian facilities and athletic fields.
Students enjoyed their first day of classes on Monday and an entertaining faculty music recital after lunch, with an afternoon free to get a head start on homework and connect with friends. The year looks like it is off to a great start!
