Recently, Grier musicians and vocalists treated the Grier community to the biggest concert of the year, with performances by the orchestra, string orchestra, jazz ensemble, flute choir, junior select singers, select singers and concert choir.
The concert began with the Orchestra performing Russian Sailor's Dance, The Moldeau, and highlights from John Williams under the direction of Mrs. Neumuller. String Orchestra was next up, performing A Nordic Lullaby and selections from Les Miserables. Then, Jazz Ensemble took the stage with Act Your Age and The Jazz Police. Ms. Wang directed flute choir in Animal Crackers.
The vocal portion of the concert began with Mrs. Hanlon's Junior Select Singers performing Sister Song, Stodola Pumpa, and Imagine, featuring soloists Lillian R., Cas C., Xinyi G., Meichang L., Liza E., Anna A., Natalia M., and Abigail W.
Select Singers under the direction of Mrs. Reinhardt were up next, with Kiss and I Can Feel It in the Air Tonight, featuring soloists Katie S., Katie M., Shannon B., and Shannan L. Concert Choir then closed the show with Oceans and Stars, On a Slow Boat to China, and Voice on the Wind. Concert Choir soloists included Shannan L. and Shannon B. Mrs. Neumuller even showcased her drumming talents on the djembe for the final piece.
