Mallory Named National Champ at Sport Horse Nationals

As many Grier students arrived to campus for Opening events, some Grier riders were in Raleigh, NC, competing in the 2017 Sport Horse Nationals Arabian & Half Arabian Championship Show where Mallory E. and her Arabian horse Trueblue Goldmine won the National Champion title in Show Hack Amature to Ride.
Grier Riders set up at the Gov. James B. Hunt Jr. Horse Complex on Tuesday, September 5th to participate in the five-day competition.

By Saturday, Grier Stables shared some exciting updates:
  • Mallory  E. rode Goldmine to a Top Ten in Second Level Amateur to Ride (ATR), Top Ten (6th) in Basic Western Dressage Open out of 49, which was the biggest dressage class at the show!
  • Lindsay S. had great rides with Gabby and made it to the final round of Purebred Sport Horse Under Saddle Hunter Type.
  • Lauren H. received a Top Ten with Gabby in the Working Hunter 14.2 Under and had great rounds in the Working Hunter ATR.
The final results confirmed that our riders did great during this competition:
  • Lindsay S. made it through her cut class to the final round.
  • Lauren H. finished 5th in the Working Pony Hunters.
  • Mallory E. was National Champion in Show Hack Amature to Ride! Mallory also placed 8th in second level dressage, 6th in basic western dressage, and 3rd in level one western dressage.
Grier also congratulates rider Maggie F. on her 8th place finish at NCAA Medal Finals in Saugerties, NY.

Great job, riders!
