Senior Sherry X. and Junior Monica U. spent Grier’s Winter Break together in Monica’s homeland of Mexico. Sherry, a native of China, joined Monica and her family for Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. Sherry appreciates the hospitality of Monica’s family and calls them her “adopted Mexican family” and says the experience was absolutely amazing.
Sherry writes, “I had an authentic Mexican Christmas” that included a traditional Mexican dinner and a piñata. Sherry is also attended Catholic mass for the first time ever and enjoyed a spectacular New Year’s celebration. Additionally, Monica and Sherry visited Teotihuacán, Templo Mayor, and Bazaar del Sábado.
Experiences like this of Monica and Sherry is one of the great benefits of attending Grier School where students worldwide can connect deeply with one another and form lifelong friendships.
