Riding Clinic With Mary Meneely, NCEA National Champ Coach

Grier Western riders had a real treat when they attended a clinic by Mary Meneely, the much-lauded assistant coach for Auburn University. Grier riders and their horses worked in pairs and small groups with Coach Meneely in Grier’s Western Riding Indoor Arena to improve their western riding technique.
The Riding department is honored to have Mary Meneely grace the Grier campus. Responsible for the Western riding division at Auburn, Coach Meneely helped her riders win their sixth national NCEA title (4 earned during her tenure) and second SEC crown. Several riders from her Auburn team have received individual titles and high accolades. Prior to Auburn, Coach Meneely had a great run coaching the University Georgia equestrian team, helping the Bulldogs secure plenty of championship titles.  She and her husband own and operate Meneely Show Horses Ltd., of Conyers, Georgia. Her Auburn biography states, “They have produced over 500 World and National Championships in both Western and Hunt Seat.”

Grier’s riders learned from Coach Meneely’s expertise and also formed a connection with Auburn University, and the world of college-level horsemanship.
