SAT and ACT Offered on Grier Campus this Spring
Grier 11th grade students attending school in-person will now be able to take the SAT and ACT tests on campus this spring.
Because Grier is offering these tests on school days, we can limit the attendees to our own in-person students unlike conventional test centers that offer weekend tests during national testing dates; and therefore, must open their test administration to the entire community. This is fantastic news for our in-person juniors!

Dear Parents and students,
Grier School is happy to announce that we will offer the SAT and ACT on campus this spring to in person students in 11th grade. Though many colleges will continue their test optional admissions policies for the 2021 – 2022 admissions season, there still seems to be an advantage to submitting test scores along with college applications. I encourage all 11th graders to take either the SAT or ACT this spring, if they can do so safely.
The SAT will be offered at Grier School on Tuesday, April 27th at 8am. This test WILL NOT include the optional essay. Students who take this test will miss a day of classes and will be responsible for making up their school work. The cost of the test will be $52 and will be deducted from the student’s activities account. Students who are eligible for a fee waiver, may have this cost reduced to $8. To see if you are eligible for a fee waiver, please visit College Board’s website.
The ACT will be offered at Grier School in late April. The specific date has not yet been determined and will be announced once it is set. This test WILL NOT include the optional essay. The ACT will be an online test, not paper and pencil. Students will need to take the test on a school owned computer. For this reason, seats for the ACT are limited. Like the SAT, students who take this test will miss a day of classes and will be responsible for making up their school work. The cost of the test will be $46.00 and will be deducted from the student’s activities account. At this time, we are investigating whether or not families may use a fee waiver during an in school test administration to reduce or eliminate the cost of the test.
