Grier Summer Awards Dance Scholarship
Following her participation and performance in the Grier Gala, dancer Nova P. received the Grier Summer Dance Intensive Scholarship for Summer 2018. Congratulations, Nova!
A Dance Intensive Program is offered during our first 3-week camp session for serious intermediate to advanced dancers age 12-17. Dancers interested in the intensive must audition upon their arrival at Grier Summer for proper placement. Dancers in the intensive receive instruction from Jocelyn Hrzic, Head of the Grier School's Dance Department, choreographer, and coach of the school’s award winning dance team. Members of the Dance Intensive Program spend three activity periods dancing for a total of 4½ hours, 5 days per week. Intensive classes emphasize students’ strengths, technique, musicality, and performance qualities.
When dancers are not in the dance studio, they may participate in all camp activities. Dancers can choose to explore other interests such as: pottery, mixed media, aquatics, creative writing, yoga, or musical theater.
Dance classes are held in our 9,600 square foot Performing Arts Center on the Grier Campus. Our facility has a state of the art floor and sound system and is the perfect environment for spending the summer practicing and performing.
