10th Grade Gives to Cancer Assistance Fund

The Sophomore class would like to extend many thanks to parents and students who donated to their raffle benefitting the Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund. The tenth grade Grier students sold chances to win a pair of Nike airpods, case, and a goody bag over Parent’s Weekend.
Thanks to the generosity of fellow students, families visiting during parent’s weekend, and Grier staff, the fundraiser was a great success! $550 were donated to assist patients fighting cancer. With the raffle being conducted during October and the donation being made in honor of the mother of a Grier faculty member who bravely fought breast cancer, the students focused their efforts on raising awareness of breast cancer and the additional costs incurred during cancer treatments.

The Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund was chosen as it is a locally based foundation that aids in defraying additional costs cancer treatment accumulates. The $550 raised will help meet grocery, utility, rent, and transportation needs of those currently fighting against cancer. Many thanks, once again, to the officers, tenth grade students, and all others who made this worthy fundraiser such a success!
