Meet Grier Series - Meet Student Council Vice President Lenox B. '21!

At Grier School, we are proud of our diverse student community and culture. This year it is our goal to highlight our Grier Girls in their own words. Our new series, Meet Grier, introduces our students to our extended community while showcasing their achievements and stories.

In this Student Council Highlight, we're featuring Student Council Vice President Lenox B!

MEET LENOX B. '21

  • Name: Lenox B.
  • "Home" when you're not at Grier: Odenton, MD
  • Year: Senior
  • Years attended Grier: 5
  • Age/Grade started at Grier: 8th Grade

Why/How Did you decide to attend Grier?

I was looking into boarding schools for high school because I did not like the public school system I was in and was looking for an overall better education. I toured Grier at the end of 7th grade and loved it so much I ended up coming four months later to start my 8th grade year.

Why do you prefer the all-girls school environment?

I prefer the all-girls school environment because it is much more relaxed. I've always felt more confident and never felt afraid to speak up in class to ask questions.

Are you a member or officer of any clubs/organizations?

AV Club, Bridge Club, Walk/Run Club, Student Council Vice President

What has been your favorite memory or story from your time at Grier?

My favorite memories from my time at Grier are definitely eating dinner with all of my friends. At Grier you're away from your family so in a way your friends turn into your family. Dinner time has always been a way for us to all catch up with each other after a long day of classes and sports that we don't necessarily take together.

What are you most excited about for this year?

I am most excited for the Green and Gold days that student council is planning for the whole school. We are excited to bring these back so more students can have fun on campus events and activities to look forward to on the weekends.

What is your favorite tradition at Grier and why?

My favorite Grier tradition is the candlelight night before graduation. It's the perfect way to send the seniors off to the next chapters of their lives.

What advice or message would you share with future Grier Girls?

I would tell them to take advantage of all the different sports and activities that Grier has to offer. I've been here for five years now and I've taken rec riding, badminton, walk/run, body sculpt, pottery, water-cooling, and so much more.

Just for fun - what is your favorite class, quote, book, recipe, movie, tv show, or podcast?

My favorite class is AP Calculus BC.

Thank you, Lenox, for sharing with us!
