Archers Look Strong at Tournament

Grier Archers attended a state qualifying tournament hosted by Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in Ebensburg, Pennsylvania, this weekend. Many students participate in archery as a recreational sport coached by Ms. Katt Barr at Grier, and four of those students elected to participate in the National Archery in School Program (NASP) tournament at Bishop Carroll.
Grier archers have to travel throughout the region to participate in tournaments. This one in Ebensburg was the closest to Grier campus, so the Grier community was especially welcomed to attend the event and cheer on the archers. The day-long tournament began at 8am and concluded with a 6pm awards ceremony. Competing schools included Bishop Carroll Catholic High School, Johnstown Christian School, Portersville Christian School, and Grier School.

The four Grier archers who competed were: Lauren S., Olivia A., Rainie W., and Rachel S. Three of our Grier competitors earned top-ten rankings for the day! The detailed results are available on the NASP® Tournaments website. The archers had a good time competing and Grier applauds them all!

The Grier Archers will attend their final state qualifying tournament on Saturday, February 17th at the Trojan Archery Tournament hosted by Upper Dauphin Middle School in Lykens, Pennsylvania. Please wish our archers good luck!

Be sure to check out their full schedule and the schedules for all our varsity teams on the Athletics page. Our student athletes appreciate your support!
