Dramatic Arts

Acting and public speaking can help build confidence, improve verbal communication, sharpen memorization skills, foster cooperation, and so much more. Grier provides many opportunities for students at all levels to get involved with acting and drama, both through classes and through cast or crew roles in stage productions.

Plays & Performances

Grier produces two stage plays annually, both directed by our Drama Department Chair, Kim Silverman. Actors audition for roles and receive call backs as part of the casting process. The productions include full-costumes and sets. Additionally, students in acting classes perform monologues and skits in front of small audiences and the camera.

Past stage plays have included:

  • Murder on the Nile - Winter 2018
  • Bad Seed - Fall 2017
  • Arsenic and Old Lace - Winter 2016
  • The Complete Works of Shakespeare - Winter 2016
  • The Diary of Anne Frank - Fall 2015
  • The Mousetrap - Winter 2015
  • The Man Who Came to Dinner - Fall 2014
  • The Odd Couple - Fall 2013
