Enrichment Programs

JOCELYN HRZIC has been the Director of Dance at the Grier School for more than 20 years, including the Grier Dance Summer Intensive Program. Jocelyn created the Grier Gala 15 years ago and enjoys presenting artists and companies such as Lars Lubovitch, Peridance Contemporary Dance Company, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Koresh Dance Company, BareDance, Qui Danse, Giordano Company, Ate9, DanceWorks Chicago, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Rennie Harris PureMovement, and many more. She is also the founder of Motion Dance Competition and Convention. Jocelyn danced professionally with Maxine Sherman Company, Theatre West Virginia, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Royal Caribbean. She was a dance major at Point Park University and on full scholarship at Steps on Broadway. Her choreography has been selected at Reverb, Jazz Dance World Congress, Dancing Under The Stars Festival, and Steps Lab. She has also taught at Point Park International Summer Intensive, National High School Dance Festival, Rock West School, In-Motion Bermuda, Millennium Dance Complex, The Koresh School, Whirlwind Summer Intensive, Slippery Rock University, Koresh Artist Showcase, Maries School (Monterrey, Mexico), DanceForce, and Flash Dance (Mexico City). Mrs. Hrzic was also the Executive Director of August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble and Agent for Lehrer Dance.

Danielle Bower (Assistant Artistic Director of Dance) Danielle is a dance educator and arts administrator with a degree in Dance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, as well as a BS in Business, and has danced professionally with SynthesisDANCE, as well as with various freelance choreographers and companies in NYC and Philadelphia. She has been a guest teacher at Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, and Peridance in NYC, faculty at Koresh School of Dance, and was the Artistic Coordinator and Performance Company Director at The Rock School West for over 15 years, where she played an integral role in the development of the school’s programming. Her choreography has received numerous awards and recognition and her students have been accepted into top dance programs such as Juilliard, USC Glorya Kaufman, Marymount, NYU, and PACE, as well as into professional dance companies. Danielle has also served as the School Programs Assistant at the internationally recognized Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, as a manager at Broadway Dance Center, and has taught and set works for hundreds of schools nationally and internationally, choreographed television commercials, and continues to judge competitions and teach at studios, festivals, and conventions across the US. Currently, Danielle is the Assistant Director of Dance at the Grier School in central PA where she teaches, choreographs, and is the lighting coordinator for all performances. She is also working towards her MS degree in Performing Arts Leadership & Management at Shenandoah University to further her growth as a leader and broaden her mentorship reach for students wishing to pursue a career in the arts or non-profit sector.
