The Grier Library currently features a display of books related to African-American History in the United States. The selected books explore social issues, civil rights, and feature biographies historic and celebrated African-Americans, as well as, historic fiction accounts of the Black experience.

This Monday, January 17th, the nation honors the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., an influential American civil rights leader. To help us celebrate this significant day, Grier Learning Skills teacher Mrs. Shelly Davis and Librarian Mrs. Rebecca Woolfrey invite the Grier community to "celebrate MLK Day your way" by exploring links to the African American National Anthem, a virtual tour of significant landmarks in King’s life, a guide from the University of Michigan’s Office of Multi-Ethnic Student Affairs, a digital breakout game, and a curated resource list for learning more.
