Grier students had some great chances to learn about anatomy, physiology, and neuroscience during the year. Seniors in Dr. Nancy Burke’s Survey of Neurobiology class visited a the office of a local neurosurgeon, where they were able to observe another Dr. Burke performing surgery. Back at Grier, students in Anatomy classes gained understanding of muscle tissues by dissecting a cow tongue and Biology students dissected fetal pigs.
Although surgeries and dissections aren’t for everyone, they are amazing learning experiences for any student with an interest biology or medicine.
