Sun Spotting

Mrs. Fernandes’ Earth Science eighth grade students took advantage of our recent warm, sunny skies to safely observe the sun through special eclipse-viewing lenses, solar telescopes, and other sun monitoring devices. Through the lens of the solar telescope, they were able to observe sunspots and solar flares. Even the students attending class virtually through Zoom joined the class on the Observatory deck where their in-person counterparts put cell phone cameras up to the telescope lenses to share the views!
