Grier Runner Achieves Personal Best During Indoor Season
Grier loves to share the accomplishments of our students both in school and outside of school. Following her Grier Varsity Cross-Country season, Grier freshman Edie M. has been representing Grier in competitive indoor track and field events throughout the winter season and achieving her personal best!
Earlier this month, Edie competed in the Slippery Rock All Comers Invitational track meet and placed 4th overall in the women’s 800 meter run and earned 3rd place overall in the women’s mile run. Her times were both events were personal records!
Valentine's Day weekend, Edie completed her last indoor track meet of the indoor season and was happy with the results. She ran the one-mile in 5:45, her second-best time and placed in 15th place overall in the women's division. With a time of 2:44 in the 800m, Edie shaved less than one second off her personal best and achieved 24th overall in the women’s division.
Edie says there were several amazing teams competing in this season-end event. Edie pauses just for a moment to celebrate her indoor season before she resumes training, this time for outdoor track events; the first of which will happen in only a few weeks.
Grier is proud of Edie and her great accomplishmentson and off the track! Learn more about Grier athletes on our Athletics pages.
