Le Dîner en Blanc is an annual event that originated in Paris and now takes place in numerous cities throughout the world. Participants are asked to dress all in white and arrive with picnic style food at a secret location that is only disclosed shortly before the diner takes place.
French students at Grier reenacted this event on campus by dressing in white, inviting their friends, and helping to set up tables and chairs in the Grier living room. Madame Pope brought French style food and drinks and the students had a wonderful time socializing, speaking French, and learning about this Parisian custom. At the end of the night, students pitched in to clean up the picnic materials and, in true Dîner en Blanc fashion, disappear without a trace.
