Folk Fest Musicians Entertain

Student musicians in Grier’s newest club, The Performers’ Club, entertained students, staff, and faculty with a Folk Festival concert this weekend. The group performed folk music pieces from Ireland, England, Scotland, Appalachia, and more! Concert-goers enjoyed tasty pretzels and a hot chocolate bar as they listened.
The musicians included Ceci F. on upright bass, Anna S. and Carolyn B. on violin, Grace T. on guitar, Lizzie P. doing percussion, and their teacher Mr. Mark Minnich on violin and mandolin. Mrs. Borst thanked the musicians for the wonderful show.

The Performer’s Club creates opportunities for all types of performances around campus, fostering appreciation for the performing arts as an integral part of the Grier community. Members can perform for one another and for the broader Grier community.  Open to instrumentalists, vocalists, dancers, actors, and more! The faculty sponsor is Mr. Minnich and the club president is Anna S. the club meets on Fridays at 1pm in the Music Building, but even students with schedule conflicts are welcome!

While we didn’t record this event, we have a sample of their music from a video of the Performers’ Club captured a few weeks before.
