Grier Claims High Point IEA Dressage Title

Grier extends huge congratulations to the Grier Dressage Team who traveled to the IEA Dressage Finale in Ohio over the weekend. Grier's High School Dressage team won the title of High Point Team and several Grier riders placed in their individual competitions. The Middle School team placed 3rd with only two riders participating! Grier Dressage Riders were also featured on the cover of the Winter 2017 issue of IEA's quarterly publication Take the Reins!
Individual placement for High School competitors:

Grier sophomore Lindsay S. placed 3rd in both her Open Dressage and Open Dressage Seat Equitation. Senior, Mallory E. was 8th in Open Dressage and 2nd in Open Dressage Seat Equitation. Junior Sophie K. was 4th in Intermediate Dressage and 1st in Intermediate Dressage Seat Equitation. Senior Maggie F. was 1st in JV Novice Dressage Seat Equitation. Senior Peyton B. was 1st in JV Beginner Dressage Seat Equitation. Junior Ally S. was 2nd n JV Beginner Dressage Seat Equitation.

In the Middle School division, eighth-grader Grace W. was 1st in Future Beginner Dressage Seat Equitation and seventh-grader Briane K. came in 6th place.

Congratulations to the Grier Dressage teams on an excellent end to your season!

This event was the penultimate event in the IEA’s Dressage Pilot Program, which consisted of a series of competitions in which youth riders demonstrated their skills on unfamiliar horses in both Dressage Test and Dressage Seat Equitation events. The IEA Dressage Finale tookplace March 17-18 at Otterbein University, located near Columbus, Ohio.
