Recent Grier Alumnae Return as Grier Summer Counselors-in-Training
Grier graduates often make a visit back to Grier after their college semesters wrap up, stopping by in May to say hello to former teachers and friends. Some of Grier's alumnae even decide to spend their summers at Grier, working as Counselors-in-Training at the Grier Summer camp that operates on the Grier Campus. For Summer 2017, recent alumnae Shannon B. '17, Emily-Margaret C. '16, and Kylee S. '16 will be returning to Grier as summer CITs. They will join the counseling and teaching staff, which includes Director Mrs. Jennifer Pepperman and teachers Ms. Kitty Moyer, Mr. Arron Ort, and Mrs. Christine Fernandes.
Grier Summer's staff are often selected because they are enthusiastic, caring, compassionate, and dedicated. The Grier Summer staff is composed of employees of the Grier School along with individuals hired specifically to fill Grier Summer staff positions.
The camp is proud of a small camper-to-counselor ratio and have multiple levels of supervision and support. Prior to camp, Grier Summer ensures that staff receives training in CPR/First Aid, lifeguarding, communication skills, helping with homesickness, and conflict resolution.
