Grier Celebrates the Year of the Pig

Students at Grier come from all over the world and often delight in learning about each other's cultures and traditions. In honor of Lunar New Year, a group of students arranged a special treat for the whole school to enjoy. Some of Grier's Asian students helped decorate the living room with festive red and gold decorations, symbolizing prosperity, good luck, joy, and beauty.

For her Advanced Video Editing class, senior Kirin Cao also produced a fantastic video in honor of the occassion. See it on Grier's Facebook page
The tradition of Lunar New Year is celebrated in countries throughout eastern Asia. The year 2019 is the year of the Pig, a symbol of good-nature, honesty, and sincerity.  Grier sincerely enjoyed this celebration!
