Grier Honors Karen's 40 Years of Service
September marked Grier Dining Services staff member Karen Smith's 40th year working at Grier School. Following Friday's lunch, Students and Faculty thanked Karen for her amazing service to Grier by honoring her with a suprise reception.
As her kitchen colleagues stealthily set up punch and colorful cupcakes,Chef Ashley kept Karen occupied until Mrs. Borst's voice came over the loudspeaker announcing the cause for celebration. Then, Mrs. Borst presented the stunned Karen win a balloon bouquet. Truly, everyone at Grier is very grateful to the entire Dining Services team for preparing such wondeful meals, but the current Grier community and the alumnae of the past 40 years extend special thanks to Karen for her dedicated service since 1979. Congratulations, Karen!
